Do you want to relax with your immediate family, but you’re sick of staring at your own TV? A Sunriver staycation may be the perfect getaway for Cental Oregonians this winter. As cold weather drives people indoors, a cozy escape with the members of your household will satisfy your vacation needs without having to travel great distances. Sunset Lodging in Sunriver has expanded our cleaning and sanitation protocols in order to provide our guests with a safe and healthy retreat.

Perks of a Sunriver Staycation

Like Home, But with a Hot Tub

Renting a vacation rental in Sunriver when you live in nearby Bend, Redmond, La Pine, Sister or Prineville offers you a quick commute to a peaceful vacation. By sticking with the members of your household on a Sunriver staycation, you can still enjoy the perks of a getaway while helping slow the spread of the coronavirus this winter. Sit back, relax and enjoy playing games with your family and soaking your bones in a hot tub with stellar views of the night sky. Planning a Sunriver staycation allows you to enjoy the comforts of home with the amenities you come to expect on vacation.

Restaurants at Your Front Door

Sunriver restaurants have pivoted in order to provide delivery in many cases as well as contact-less pickup options. Nothing says vacation like dining out at delicious restaurants. Order pizza for delivery from Blondie’s Pizza and have a tasty meal brought directly to your front door. Host your own beer tasting when you pick up a variety of specialty brews from Sunriver Brewing Co. or Mountain Jug. One of our favorite restaurants in Sunriver, The Wallow, is open for takeout and curbside pickup.

Many of the restaurants in Sunriver have adjusted their hours and operations per orders from the governor and depending on when you read this, they may be open for indoor dining. For now, the Sunriver restaurants have adapted for take out, curbside pickup and delivery (depending on the business – check with each restaurant for the options they offer).

Spread Out Safely and Enjoy the Outdoors

As Central Oregonians, we know and love the beautiful outdoor landscape outside of our front doors. Sometimes we don’t get the opportunities to enjoy it as much as we would like, which makes a Sunriver staycation the perfect way to enjoy the outdoor attractions in the area. Book a parking reservation at Mt. Bachelor for a long weekend after it opens on December 7 and explore the mountain in a controlled capacity. Sunriver offers our guests access to bike and hiking trails, nearby waterfalls, sno parks and plenty of places to explore without a crowd of people nearby.

Help Stop the Spread by Staying Close

At Sunset Lodging, we watched all summer as guests to the area social distanced, wore masks and allowed us to stay open. The respect for others displayed was uplifting and encouraging. Now, as we go into the winter, you and your family can still enjoy a Sunriver staycation without traveling far. We hope you, our friends and neighbors in Central Oregon, will visit us with the immediate members of your household this winter for a cozy Sunriver staycation in front of the fireplace of a beautiful, clean vacation home.
