Ongoing Events Summer 2022
First Friday Artwalk, Downtown Bend — Head to downtown Bend on the first Friday of each month for art show openings, live music, and local food and drink. 5-9pm. Free.
Concerts at Hayden Homes Amphitheater, Bend — From May through October attend concerts from an abundance of nationally touring bands and musicians. Live Nation took over booking for the Hayden Homes Amphitheater (formerly Les Schwab Amphitheater) and they have already announced a ton of big shows including Foo Fighters, The Chicks, Alanis Morrisette and many more!
Things to Do in Central Oregon in May
MAY 13-14 Bend Brewfest — Every craft beer lover’s favorite festival returns to the Hayden Homes Amphitheater in the Old Mill District for two days of specialty brews on the banks of the Deschutes River. Tickets are available online at bendbrewfest.com
MAY 14 – SELCO Pole Pedal Paddle — Pole Pedal Paddle returns for 2022. The multi-sport race includes alpine and cross-country skiing, cycling, running, and kayaking, beginning on the slopes of Mt. Bachelor, and ending at Hayden Homes Amphitheater. Visit mbsef.org for more information.
MAY 21 – Happy Girls Run Bend — The Happy Girls Run is one of the most popular races of the year. Run through majestic scenery and work on your personal goals. Riverbend Park, Bend.
MAY 28 – Canicross Dog & Jog — This event brings together humans and their canine companions for an easy race, or just come and meet other dog owners. There will be music, booths from local dog shelters, dog trainers, pet stores, and athletic gear. Supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon. Deschutes County Expo Center, Redmond.
Things to Do in Central Oregon in June
JUNE 3-5 – Central Oregon BBQ, Brews & Whiskey Festival — The largest BBQ competition east of the Cascades. Come sample from food vendors, try new beers and wet your whistle trying different whiskeys. There will also be inspiring demos and entertainment. Deschutes County Expo Center, Redmond. JUNE 8-12 – Sisters Rodeo — The 80th Annual Sisters Rodeo, “Biggest Little Show In The World,” returns June 8-12. There will be 4 PRCA sanctioned rodeo performances, as well as different events throughout the weekend — a parade, buckaroo breakfast, locals night, rodeo clowns and more. Sisters Fairgrounds, Sisters.
JUNE 17-19 – Pacific Crest — This year, Pacific Crest moves from Sunriver to Bend for the 26th Annual multi-sport festival. Pacific Crest has something for everyone, including Beastman 72.3, Olympic & Sprint Distance Triathlon/Duathlon/AquaBike, Half Marathon, 25K Trail & kids races. Bend.
Things to Do in Central Oregon in July
JULY 9-10 – Bend Summer Festival — Head downtown for a diverse lineup of live music acts, the Fine Artist Promenade, the Oregon Lifestyle Marketplace, food vendors, a race for kids and much more. Downtown Bend. Free.
JULY 22 – Race for the Birds – Sunriver — Enjoy gorgeous views of Mt. Bachelor nd Sunriver while running to support the Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory. Run or walk the 5K or 1K kids race and then celebrate afterward with a live owl. Sunriver.
JULY 22-24 – Balloons Over Bend — Over the course of the weekend, hot air balloons launch into the skies over Bend at dawn. In the evenings, head to either Bend on Friday or Redmond on Saturday for the Night Glow event, which features glow-in-the-dark balloons, food, music, and a marketplace. Bend and Redmond.
Things to Do in Central Oregon in August
AUG 6 – 33rd Annual Sunriver Quilt Show — Head down to The Village at Sunriver to browse more than 200 beautiful quilts that will be hanging throughout the Village in front of stores and cafes. Quilts are for viewing, though some will be available for purchase. There will also be unique vendors. The Village at Sunriver. Free.
AUG 9-21 – 45th Annual Sunriver Music Festival — Each year, classical musicians from all over the country descend upon Central Oregon for the Sunriver Music Festivals. Concerts take place throughout the month of August. Visit sunrivermusic.org for more information. Sunriver.
AUG 12-14 – 2022 Sunriver Art Fair — Sponsored by the Sunriver Women’s Club (SRWC), net proceeds from the Sunriver Art Fair help support nonprofits in south Deschutes County. The annual art fair takes place in The Village at Sunriver, allowing you to shop for art directly from artists. The Village at Sunriver. Free.
AUG 26-27 – Theater in the Park — Each August, live theater comes to Drake Park in Bend for two nights. This year, the production will be Spamalot, which is lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, retelling the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Drake Park, Bend.
Things to Do in Central Oregon Over Labor Day Weekend
SEP 2-3 – Little Woody Barrel-Aged Beer, Cider & Whiskey Festival — Celebrate craft, barrel-aged beer, cider and whiskey from throughout the Pacific Northwest at the annual Little Woody Barrel-Aged Beer, Cider and Whiskey Festival. The Northwest’s top breweries create small-batch beers aged in wood barrels specifically for this festival and you won’t want to miss it! Includes live music and local food vendors. Deschutes Historical Museum Lawn, Downtown Bend.
