A long standing family favorite, ice skating in the Sunriver Village Mall has always been a big draw for guests visiting the area. Imagine holding your child’s hand as they strap on ice skates for the first time. The ice skating rink includes a viewing area around the rink, as well as an upgraded sound system.

Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides

Looking for a fun evening for your teenage children? Children ages 12-18 are invited to a teen-only event at SHARC, which features an ice cream/root beer float social, water basketball/volleyball games, contests and use of the hot tub and indoor aquatics center. Late Night Retro Movie Screening – Christmas Vacation

Tubing is a blast, right? What better way to improve upon a time honored tradition than to do it at night time with black lights and glow sticks, lasers and hot cocoa. Make reservations in advance for the awesome adventure that is the Blacklight Blast Tubing event at SHARC in Sunriver.

Holiday Sky Viewing
Oregon Observatory at Sunriver, 57245 River Rd, Sunriver.

Dress warm and enjoy exploring the infinite abyss that is the night sky. Telescopes will be aimed at a variety of objects and be ready for viewing. Enjoy a presentation in the Pozzi education building and then return to the observatory for spectacular viewings of galaxies light years away. Staff explains some of the mythology and helps provide a better understanding of our universe.

New Year’s Eve Bonfire on the Snow

Don’t feel like driving into Bend to celebrate the new year in style? Head over to the Twisted River Tavern and dance to the pop-rock jams provided with local favorite Precious Byrd. As part of the annual Traditions event at Sunriver Resort, Gingerbread Junction offers visitors a chance to view a variety of beautiful gingerbread houses artfully crafted for the event. Browse the whimsical, the functional, the sweet sugary dreamscapes created by children in the community as well as adult contest entrants. The gingerbread houses are on display in the Abbot Room at Sunriver Resort.
